SCARSDALE--Bold thinking is pointing toward a new goal for solid waste management. Beyond Waste is the directional call. At the Greenburgh Nature Center on Feb. 9, a panel of leaders from the business community, environmental grassroots organizers, village, county and state government will present plans and initiatives to move our consumer culture in the direction of decreasing and reclaiming as much waste as we possibly can through new technologies and creative initiatives, according to a press release. The panel will be followed by questions/answers and discussion of how efforts at all levels can be mutually supportive toward the common goal of moving Beyond Waste.

The program will be held at the Greenburgh Nature Center on Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m., with a snow date of Feb. 16. Light refreshments will be served at 7 p.m. The presentation is approximately 45 minutes in length with time afterwards for questions and discussion. It is designed for adults and high school students. The program is free, and handicapped parking is available.
